Bowdon Killer Bees 2 - Runcorn 1

The first half of the game was pedestrian. Finally the Bees received a much-needed wakeup call in the form of a successful flick from top dee by the Runcorn forward, thereby going a goal down. Bowdon actually looked very promising toward the very end of the first half by winning 2 or 3 long corners but nothing was set until a push by Swithers to bring the first half to an end in a one all tie.

The second half was better for the home side with plenty of crosses supplied from both wings just wanting to be pushed in. Not until a textbook (Now sadly out of print - Ed) strike by Yokker off a penalty short corner were Bowdon get the winner. Runcorn still fought on 'til the final whistle, having been awarded a string of corners against the home side.

(Ever read one of those instruction sheets for a toaster which has obviously been translated from Japanese? By someone who speaks very good Japanese, if you know what I mean... Well, that's what Jon does as his hobby, I reckon. If you don't believe me, check out the original match report as dispatched to me after 2 weeks deep thought on the subject here - Ed)
