Urmston 7 - Bowdon Killer Bee's 3
Initially Urmston poured forward and their efforts were rewarded with a goal. As the half wore on the Bees got better and better with the legendary (mythical more like... - morale Ed) silky passing game very much to the fore. Goals from David Phillips and Jon Bray put the Bees into a deserved lead only for Urmston to pull level on the stroke of half time via a short corner. The second half started badly (Hmm... I notice a lack of ridicule of the half time speech: nothing to do with Yokker giving it by any chance? And the result of this oratorial masterpiece? Onwards, dear reader!. - Ed) - Urmston scored within a minute and after that the opposition took charge. A series of short corners in the middle of the second half led to Urmston scoring 4 more in quick succession. In each case goalie Ronnie didn't even move as the shots went in quicker that an exocet missile. Stickie, aided by his world renown stealth boots, pulled one back but it was a case of too little too late. To top off the afternoon some muppet had forgotten to order the food so for the second week in succession the Bees went hungry. At least it gave Jonny an excuse to have a moan...
(So there we have it folks - the Bees first loss this season. I was feeling pretty guilty about not being around this weekend, although God knows what this would have done to the scoreline. However, Yokker's final comment put paid to all thoughts of team solidarity - no Cakes, no Olly - Ed) |
