Lytham 0 - Bowdon Killer Bees 0

Another week, another away game and another opportunity for the Bees to develop their grass playing skills.

Confidence in the Lytham camp started high as only one Bee had turned up by pushback time (and that was the really ugly one - Fashion Ed) , but the rest of the swarm duely arrived and we even had the luxury of a substitute.

The first half started with the Bees playing their normal formation and the rotund one on the bench. The Bees soaked up the early pressure and Lytham
had a goal disallowed . The Bees defended valiantly despite not being able to hit out and Olly's "helpful" comments from the sideline (Yeah, I was shouting instructions on how to hit the ball, to a predictable bunch of ingrates! - Unappreciated Ed). Halftime came with the Bees still level and hanging on doggedly.

At half time Olly provided a team talk of his normal standard and an impromptu tackling class for the defense. Olly replaced Giles at left-half and then moved into centre-back once he got tired (about 5 minutes later). Fair point... - Ed

The second half started much the same as the first, with the Bees soaking up the early pressure. Lytham became increasingly frustrated by the Bees
impregnable defensive line and took to intimidation tactics. Carl in particular was singled out for special treatment by the Lytham number 2, who was green-carded for his efforts . Sticky took a ball in the throat which looked liked it stung a bit, and the Bees even gave the Lytham keeper something to do .

All in all, a solid performance by the Bees. I thought we played better in the second half (despite Olly) and the draw was a fair reflection of the play.
